The magic lanterns on Saint Pharaildis Square in Ghent welcome every newborn baby. At daytime, they light up for 40 seconds to signal every birth, and in the evening the lights are dimmed to 40 percent of their capacity to brighten up when a baby is born. The moving art installation by Alberto Garutti fits so well in our welcoming city!
